Participate in a national competition to "Pack the House" at a selected home game from January 1 to February 17. NCAA member schools will compete against schools in their own conference as well as all Division I schools for a chance to be the 2008 NCAA Women's Basketball Pack the House Challenge Champion and win great prizes.
We aren't asking you to "create" a new promotion. Simply select a planned promotion from January 1 to February 17 and designate it as a "Pack the House" game with the goal of setting an attendance record. The Pack the House Challenge may also serve as a stand alone promotion for one selected home game.
We need to grow the sport of women's basketball by building upon our successes and preparing for the next generation of women's college basketball players and fans. This is an opportunity to further develop national grassroots programs aimed at increasing attendance and awareness. Win great prizes for your marketing team.
One marketing staff (maximum of four people) from the schools in each of the 32 participating conferences will randomly be selected as the conference winner (independent schools will compete against each other as a 'conference'). From the pool of 32 conference winners, one marketing staff will randomly be selected as the grand prize winner. Click here to view all prizes.
In addition, the NCAA will make a $500 donation to a non-profit organization (of each institution's choice and subject to approval by the NCAA) on behalf of each of the 32 winners.
Each conference office will receive a commemorative memento in recognition of the school winner.
Each participating school must submit an intent to participate form by December 3, 2007.
Once the "Pack the House" game has been held, each participating school must submit an entry form along with the Pack the House Challenge marketing plan and visual references, e.g. photos, etc. by February 20, 2008.
The NCAA will promote Pack the House Challenge participating schools and winners through the following:
The conference offices will also work to promote the initiative through their available platforms.
