The NCAA administers 88 championships in 23 sports for its member institutions. There are several other sports for which the NCAA does not conduct championships or establish rules and regulations; these are traditionally called "club" sports.
More than 40,000 student-athletes participate in NCAA championship competition each year. Each championship is run by a committee of coaches and administrators from NCAA member schools who are experts in their sport.
On this page you will find links to information about off-the-field functions that make these sports click, such as marketing, promotion and student-athlete eligibility. You can also access information about sports identified as "emerging sports" for women.
